Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

A day does not go by without someone asking me if there is a way to treat carpal tunnel syndrome without getting surgery. The answer to this is a definitive yes. For most conditions, especially carpal tunnel syndrome, surgery should always be the last resort. In fact, many of the people that I treat for carpal tunnel syndrome have had surgery and yet they still suffer from the pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

It’s not that the surgery was bad, in fact, most of the orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons do amazing work and their success rate is better than it has ever been.

The problem may be two fold.  First, most people return to their usual activities that caused the carpal tunnel syndrome in the first place.  Second, most people suffer from a mild, moderate or even severe glandular disorder which is often overlooked…according to research by National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes certain causes of carpal tunnel are often overlooked. Most likely the carpal tunnel disorder is due to a congenital predisposition…Contributing factors other than sprain/strain, fracture or whiplash can include overactivity of the pituitary gland, thyroid, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis.

In order to treat carpal tunnel syndrome effectively, first, a blood test is necessary to rule-in or rule-out if a predisposition to the disorder needs to be treated.  Again, disorders like thyroid, pituitary gland, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis all can play a role in the carpal tunnel disorder because they all create an imflammatory response in the joints and tissues of the body.  The tissues within the joints will swell.  So, swollen tissues in the carpal tunnel create a very tight, compressed space for the median nerve to feed the nerve supply to the hand.  A simple blood screening test can provide the necessary information.  Treatment, if a systemic predisposition is determined, will include natural pharmaceuticals to reduce the swelling by treating glandular, diabetic, or even rheumatoid arhtritis.

Second, and just as important, the muscles and ligaments for the arm and wrist and even the hands have to be treated with a special hands on technique to ‘massage’ the carpal ligament.  Also, an effective carpal tunnel decompression therapy will decompress the tight carpal ligament and create more space for the median nerve to ‘breathe’.

Further healing may include laser therapy which penetrates deep into the carpal tunnel and heals scar tissue which develps over a course of years with surgeries and sprains/strains.
Without following this comprehensive and extremely thorough ‘Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pain Relief Treatment Program’, the pain from carpal tunnel syndrome usually returns. This is the reason why most therapies for treating carpal tunnel syndrome fail.

If you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, and other treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic therapy and even surgery have failed to relieve your pain, you owe it to yourself to schedule an appointment with me to see if my ‘Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Pain Relief Treatment Program’ would take away your carpal tunnel syndrome pain like it has already done so for dozens and dozens and dozens of former wrist and hand pain sufferers.
